Hip Replacement Surgery
Hip Replacement Surgery is also referred as hip arthroplasty. This is a surgical procedure in which a damaged hip joint is replaced with an artificial implant. The orthopedic surgeon evaluates the condition based on symptoms and special studies (radiography, MRI, arthroscopy) to confirm the fact of joint degeneration to make sure that the patient needs hip replacement.
Choosing the right implant is a very important part of the joint replacement process, which the orthopedic surgeon takes into account the patient's age, activity level, lifestyle, specific anatomy of the patient's knee joint, and other medical conditions.
Currently, implants are produced in different designs and from different materials. The shelf life of the implant is 10 to 15 years, although in many patients the implants remain in excellent condition even 25 years after the operation. Hospitals in India offer the latest implants, including "Oxinium-on-XLPE", made from oxidized zirconium metal, which provides smooth movement and has extremely low wear.
